Sponsor a Scholarship by Dedicating the Tax Dollars You Already Owe
Established by the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act’, the Education Freedom Tax Credit allows individual tax payers to dedicate up to $1,700 of their tax liability to an education scholarship for a student in their state or community.
Because this is a credit (not a deduction) there is no cost for donors. Each dollar donated to an approved ‘Scholarship Granting Organization’ results in a dollar less paid when filing taxes.
This is an opportunity to take control over how your tax dollars are spent and ensure they go directly to support a student who is struggling.
Why support tutoring?
Research shows that high-quality tutoring is the most effective education intervention for struggling students
Each $1,700 donation equates to a tutoring scholarship for a specific child
Family Tutoring Alliance enhances tutoring services by providing resources and guidance to families on how to reinforce academic concepts in daily life.
Through tutoring, students develop a meaningful relationship with a trusted adult who provides emotional support and encouragement
Students who participate in tutoring not only perform better academically, they feel more confident and comfortable in school overall
How it works:
Once the donation is made, Family Tutoring Alliance provides all of the required forms and guidance to claim the tax credit when filing taxes.
Donors have access to dedicated staff at the Family Tutoring Alliance to work through any specific questions.
Donors will receive ongoing updates related to the impact the scholarships are having on students lives.
At least 90% of the donation is required to go to the scholarship itself with only 10% being held for overhead.
Note: while donors may specify donations go to students in a particular community, donors are not permitted to specify specific students.
